NTPWCF, Inc. is an affiliate of the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of America
If you have a purebred Pembroke Welsh Corgi you have made the decision to release for placement in a new home your first step should be to contact the breeder that you got the dog from. A reputable breeder should always be given the option of taking the dog back. If your breeder has no interest, please access and complete our Rescue Release Form prior to contacting us.
All of our dogs are current on their shots, heartworm negative (on preventative) and spayed or neutered. The club requires a minimum donation of $250. The majority of them have been in foster care with a club member and have been evaluated for things like housebreaking, temperament, child friendliness, leash training and compatibility with other animals.
The majority of our rescue dogs are 4 years of age or older. On rare occasions we do get puppies. We have had every color available. Most dogs are easy and some are special needs canines. With our rescue dogs as with any new canine family member we highly recommend an obedience class. They tend to be helpful for the training of dog and owner. Particularly with the general temperament typical to corgis it is essential to establish the owner as alpha.
We do not operate on a first come first served basis. Our goal is a loving, permanent home for our dogs and our priority is matching the right dog with the right family.
If you have a place in your home and your heart for a rescue dog, print out a copy of our application and email NTPWCF Rescue (rescue1@northtxwelshcorgis.org) snail-mail or fax it to us.You may also fill out the application and submit it on line.
We look forward to hearing from you.
